English Brown Ale COC PDF Print E-mail

Last week we tasted entries for the English Brown Ale Club-Only-Competition (what's this?). It was a tight race, but a tasty Mild Ale--brewed by Bruce Greene, Tristan White, and Yours Truly--barely edged out the competition... err, the only other entry.

It has been sent off for judging, so I'll keep you posted on how THC fares against the other clubs.

UPDATE: I've received scoresheets, and while we didn't get a medal, our entry did pretty well. We received a score of 34, which is perfectly respectable score. There were 78 entries in total. Our entry was tasted right in the middle of a flight of 11 (6/11). Better luck next time, THC.

As you’ve probably heard, we’ve been talking quite a bit at the meetings about the AHA’s Club-Only Competition (COC). There are still lots of questions about it, so I thought I’d write up a little explanation for what it is, why we’re talking about it, and why we (as a club) should participate. I’ll also outline the schedule of the competition and point out important deadlines. Find out more after the jump (click "read more").
