What should I bring? Any homebrew you wish to share, friends, significant other.

Note: They won’t be able to serve their own beer due to liquor license issues.

Join us at the new 1912 Brewery to cap a tough day at the voting booths with good beer and good friends. We will be joined by Walter Diaz, who will give us a talk about mash tun design. Walter, who wrote a feature article for BYO magazine for the Jan/Feb 2013 issue on this subject, is excited to share his knowledge with us. Can’t wait to see everyone there!

THC Barrel Project

Welcome to the 2015-2016 Tucson Homebrew Club Barrel Project. If you came to our September 2015 meeting you had the privilege of signing up already. We’ve reached our goal and will no longer be accepting sign ups. If you’ve signed up here’s the deal:

We got a red wine barrel that 1055 used to make an awesome saison. Forrest has cared for it, and it’s holding water and is ready to be filled with fermented beer to be aged and soured over time. Remember this is an experiment and the barrel will be a living changing thing.

Here’s the recipe everyone should be brewing:
85% Pils
10% Wheat
5% Brewer’s Choice (Whatever you want, have on hand).

OG 1.050
Mash High for a FG of 1.015-1.020
Hops are not required, but if you wish, no More than 10 IBU’s
WLP001- clean fermenting yeast.

If you need an extract recipe, we can send one out. If you don’t know how to achieve these numbers ask someone in the club.

Dates:
-Drop off is at Jon’s House, directions to follow, but it is far eastside. If unable to make drop off talk to us and we can arrange something.

-Drop off November 21st with primary fermented beer.
-Ideal brew date is November 7th (Teach a Friend to homebrew day!).

-Will receive empty carboys back at December meeting
-In return for donating wort members will receive 4 finished 750 mL bottles per 5 gallons donated.

ASH Oktoberfest / Fall Festival

We are invited to ASH Oktoberfest / Fall Classic Festival!

All you need to do is sign up if you think you want to go. This will put your name on a list so ASH can let you in when you get there. Your name has to be on that list to get in. If you don’t sign up here, and are not an ASH member, you won’t be allowed entry.

Also, this is for Tucson Homebrew Club members in good standing only.

Festival is Nov 8th.
They need a full list of names Nov 1st.
Cut off for this sign up will be Oct 30th.

This is a pot-luck style event, so bring something delicious drink and eat to share!

Holiday Party

When: Saturday, December 5th,
What to bring: Beer & Pot luck style entry/desert/etc, beer (no bottles)
Who: THC Members & Buffalo Club Members.

The club will provide a special commercial beer.

Holiday Beer Exchange

At the holiday party, we’ll also be swapping beer.

We did this last year formally known as the “12 beers of Christmas”. It seemed to be a hit, so we’re doing it again.

Here’s how it works. You brew your favorite holiday beer recipe, bottle it. Bring it (along with some delicious pot-luck style entry/desert/etc) to our Holiday Party on December 5th at Ramada #5 at Udall park.

You’ll exchange a few bottles of your beer with the other folks who signed up. In the end, everyone gets a wide assortment of holiday style beers.

21st Anniversary Party

When: January 23, 2016 noon- 10pm
Where: Dragoon Brewing Company

Who: Everyone! Dragoon is still open for normal business.

Please join us for our 21st anniversary celebration at Dragoon Brewing Company. At this celebration Dragoon will be releasing “Identity Crisis”, a beer brewed by Forrest Mitchell the Tucson Homebrew Club member competition winner.

2016 Tucson Homebrew Club Memberships will be discounted from $35 to $30. Additionally, we’ll be giving out Free Tucson Homebrew Club 21st Anniversary shirts for all who sign up.

We’ve partnered with two local food trucks:
Lunch Truck: Zaney Beaver
Evening Truck: Fiamme Woodfire Pizza Co.

This is going to be an all day event at Dragoon, noon – 10pm.
Prizes will be raffled from 7-8pm.

Raffle tickets will start being sold before the event.

There is going to be TONS of amazing raffle prizes including, but not limited to:

Brew with Dragoon!
Join dragoon in brewing a batch of their own beer on their production system.
A 6th barrel (~5g) keg of Anniversary Beer – Identity Crisis.
More raffle prizes will be announced as we move forward since, we’ve received tons of awesome donations from our awesome sponsors.
