BJCP Tasting Exam
A BJCP Beer Judging Exam (tasting) scheduled for May 21st. Currently, demand is low and need more names on my sign-up list justify having the exam. Registration will remain open through the end of March. If demand still remains low, the event will be canceled. If you or anyone you know is interested, the details and a sign-up form can be found at the link below. The next AZ judging exam after this will be Jan. 2017.

EVENTS
Big Brew – National Homebrew Day – May 7th, 2016 at 1912 Brewing.
Tentative Schedule:
  • 7-9am – Setup
  • 10am (12 pm CDT) – National Simultaneous Toast
  • Flame on after toast
  • 1pm – Clean up
  • 3pm – Done
1912 will be hosting us this year. This will be an outside event for Tucson Homebrew Club members in good standing.

1912 will be doing the mash. Seeing as they have a 100 gallon capacity, sign up will be limited to 14 people at 7 gallons each, additional wort available if capacity is not reached or if someone signs up and can’t make it.

This is on a first-come-first-served basis. Cost for the event is $15. Sign up using the button below.

Big Brew Sign Up

April 23rd4-9 pm, Rillito Park. Tucson
We are going to have a booth and would like some volunteers to setup and man a booth, talk about the club, perhaps judge some beer etc. 

Don’t worry, you’ll be work some of the time, and have some time to enjoy the festival. 

Emily and Mike Cook will be heading up this effort!

Parking:
Space is limited to 10-12 cars, carpooling  up the mountain is highly recommended. 

Facilities:
All five group areas have picnic shelters that can accommodate between 40 to 90 people each and come equipped with drinking water, electricity, trash collection and vault toilets.

Common questions:
Can I just go up for the day?
Yes! Come hang out for the day, hike, drink, etc, and head back down the mountain the same day.

If I’m spending the night, do I have to stay the entire time?
No. Come and go as you please.

What is the club providing?
The club has reserved and paid for the camp ground that runs $100/day. Also, all the plates, utensils, etc. 

Will  there be BBQ?

What should I bring?
Basically, everything you would need to support yourself to camp, hike, hang out. Tents, food, beer, water, beer, CO2, jockey boxes, beer, charcoal, lamps, etc. 

Plus pot luck style dish(es) to share with everyone.

What will the weather be like?
Cooler than in Tucson!
